New Jersey has a child care Quality Rating and Improvement System called Grow New Jersey Kids (GNJK).  For child care providers that participate, it’s a commitment to quality above and beyond licensing requirements. Providers are awarded ratings of up to 5 stars in areas such as developmentally-appropriate practice, professional development, and family engagement. It’s a journey for continuous quality improvement and providers are supported through coaching and other means to advance levels in GNJK.

Grow New Jersey Kids goal is to make sure all children in New Jersey have access to quality child care and the opportunity to start kindergarten with a solid foundation from which to continue their education.
